Scientific Name: Dracaena Trifasciata
This compact plant is native to tropical regions of West Africa. With its tall, thick, waxy sword-like leaves in multiple shades of green it’s a great addition to a shadowy corner. These plants are great for anyone because they are drought and shade tolerant.
Pot Type: Terracotta or glazed ceramic with matching saucer. River stone top dressing.
Care Tips
Light: Bright indirect light, shade tolerant.
Water: Allow the top 3” of soil to dry out. Reducing watering to 1x month in winter.
Indoor: 14 - 21 days
Outdoor: 10 -14 days
Use the finger method or a moisture meter to test the soil, as various pots/top dressings, as well as placement in your space will determine how often it needs to be watered.
Temperature: 70°-90°, overwinter indoors
Humidity: Average to high humidity. Mist regularly in dry seasons.
Fertilize: Once or twice in the spring/summer or during heavy growing periods.
Repot: Every 2 years or if you see the roots growing out of the drainage holes.
